Last night I watched the much awaited premiere of Project Runway. Now I have come to expect certain things from PR after watching the show for all these years : 1. There will always be a kook in the cast of designers (Ari) 2. There will be a good chance Heidi
Klum is pregnant and 3. Michael
Kors will still be dressed in all black (looking homeless chic as always).
On the first episode, the designers are given the task to make a red carpet ready dress in oh 2 days or so. Some rise to the challenge, some uh..well we still don't know what planet they were beamed down from. But I came to realize how objective creativity is in general. The judges raved about certain dresses that to me, were hideous. I really don't think we were seeing the same dress half the time. I would go
eww and they would LOVE IT..
Creativity is an expression of
someone's inner self. I try to find artists and musicians and designers who embrace their creativity and don't mainstream it. I love to stumble across a piece of art and fall in love with it because it makes me feel different, it opened a door that might have
previously had been shut.
I guess the point I am trying to make is be creative, be
artistic, be musical..for yourself. There will always be people who criticize your work, but if you allowed your creativity to come from within, it shouldn't matter.
